Everyday tips

  • wear your splint every night
  • take short breaks from typing, phone use and gripping tasks
  • keep your hands warm, as cold can make symptoms worse
  • use a keyboard and mouse that keep your wrist straight

Gadgets that can help

  • jar and bottle openers
  • kitchen tools with thick, easy grip handles
  • a kettle tipper
  • voice typing on your phone or computer

If you have diabetes or an underactive thyroid, keeping them well controlled can help. Losing weight, if you need to, may reduce pressure on the nerve.
