The CEA Card is run by the Cinema Exhibitors' Association. It is accepted at most cinemas in the UK.
What it gives you
When you buy a full price ticket for yourself, you get one free ticket for someone to go with you and help you. The tickets must be for the same film, showing and screen, bought at the same time.
Who can get one
You can usually apply if you get:
- PIP (either part)
- DLA (any rate)
- Attendance Allowance
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
You can also apply if you are registered blind or sight impaired. If you do not get these benefits, the CEA may accept other evidence, such as a letter from your GP or consultant.
How much it costs and how to apply
The card costs £6 at the time of writing. Apply online at the CEA Card website and upload your proof, such as your benefit award letter.
Common questions
Do I need a CEA Card for a child?
Yes, if the child needs someone with them. Children aged 8 and over can have their own card. Check the CEA Card website for the current rules.
