We want everyone to be able to use our website, including people with a disability or long-term health condition. This statement explains what we do and how to get help.

What we do

We design and test our website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. This is the standard used by the UK government.

You should be able to:

  • make text up to 200% bigger without text spilling off the screen
  • use the whole website with just a keyboard
  • use the website with a screen reader such as VoiceOver, TalkBack or NVDA
  • use voice control software
  • see your device's dark mode, if you have it switched on
  • turn off animations by switching on reduce motion on your device
  • print any page, including your self-check results

We also:

  • write in plain English, with short sentences and no jargon where we can avoid it
  • use a font designed to be easy to read, including for people with low vision
  • use colours with strong contrast
  • make buttons and links large enough to tap easily on a phone
  • never rely on colour alone to show meaning

How accessible this website is

We believe this website fully meets WCAG 2.2 level AA. We are not aware of any parts that are hard to use. If you find one, please tell us.

How we test this website

We test our pages with automated tools and by hand, including checking keyboard use, zoom and screen readers on phones and computers. We test again whenever we add new types of page.
